On January 30th, 2024, Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel officially completed its gradual renovation. The hotel has undergone many rounds of renovation since Disney acquired it in 1995, and this most recent one, completed without ever closing fully to guests, served to transform the hotel entirely. Pixar Place used to be known as Paradise Pier Hotel, and the much-needed update has turned the space into a veritable gallery of Pixar’s art.

The hotel’s redesign is based on vibrant colors and delightful Easter eggs. Guests can find nods to Pixar’s feature films in everything from the Mondrian-style front doors to floor tiles and bed textiles. In the guestrooms, primary colors are joyfully employed to energize guests after a long day at the park. The headboard murals, printed by Astek, feature many iconic Pixar films in a subtle gradient of warm to cool colors. The lighting is adjustable via dimmer switches so guests can customize the room's mood.

Each floor of the hotel is themed after a different Pixar film. When exiting the elevator to their floor, guests are greeted with a large-scale mural depicting the film that the floor is based on. The theme continues in details like paint colors and custom carpet choices, helping to orient guests in the hotel and providing further moments of joy and discovery.
